(scriptureunion.org.au) SU Australia is a charitable 'limited by guarantee' not-for-profit organisation comprising more than 900 staff and thousands of volunteers, working with churches, and serving in communities in all states and territories across Australia.  All SU Australia staff and volunteers are empowered and equipped to champion a child safe culture and are committed to the highest standards of safety and care in our work with children, young people, and families.  SU Australia in the Northern TerritoryThe Field Development Manager role is currently funded by a partnership between Bush Church Aid (BCA) and SU Australia.In the Northern Territory, we are seeking to appoint a full-time Field Development Manager to lead and develop our ministry in schools, including managing our team of school chaplains and facilitating religious instruction (RI) in schools.  You will be responsible for recruiting and training chaplains and volunteer RI teachers/helpers, as well as being required to personally teach RI in some schools.  In your new role, you will visit churches and other supporters to build networks and grow SU’s school’s ministry in the region.  This role is based in Darwin and may also require some travel to other parts of the NT.  Our ideal candidate will have:A mature personal faith and values consistent with SU’s and BCA’s ethos and theologyA strong background in ministry and mission, preferably with children and young peopleExperience in School Chaplaincy and/or RITheological training with a teaching backgroundExperience in a similar role of coordinating and developing volunteersA successful track record in building and maintaining networks and an ability to represent our organisation effectively in external settingsThis role is perfect for someone looking for a relaxed lifestyle with more sunshine and less traffic.
